Parents Trying Not To Be Furious At Their Kids For Ruining Their Expensive Things

Having kids is a true blessing, but sometimes they can test our patience to unhealthy levels. For example, one thing that young children aren't so good at is understanding the value of money or valuables. So when they accidentally break something expensive or irreplaceable, unfortunately, you can't be too mad at them. Parents of Reddit have revealed the most expensive things their children ruined by mistake and I can only imagine the self-restraint they had to exercise in order to not kill their kids on the spot!

4th Grader Punished With Zoom Detention, Mom Says It's Ridiculous

Most of us can't really imagine what it's like to be a young child in zoom-school. Personally, I could barely focus in regular grade school. On a computer in your own home, there are a million distractions that could take your attention away at any moment. In general, nobody argues that it is the ideal learning environment, but it is the best that we can do until this bizarre time passes. However, it is important that teachers realize not everything can be perfectly moved over to zoom. Sure, we can do read-aloud, quizzes, projects, but... detention? This one might be taking it a step too far.

So here are this week's funniest parenting tweets, which you'll relate to if you're also going through the struggles of everyday parenting.

People Who Made Their Parents Want To Return Them

Half of our job as children is to disappoint our parents. It's in our nature, what better is there a way to show them that we love them? We simply need to make embarrassing mistakes so that when we don't severely f**k something up, they can be proud! Do you see? Genius. This is what growing up is all about. Life is much more bearable when you realize that your parents are just people who decided to get down and dirty and bring more people into this world. There are definitely some boundaries that I prefer to keep with my parents, but they definitely get crossed on the regular. Oh well.

If you've ever thought to yourself, "Damn, I'm a disappointment," you might relate to these Tweets.

Every parent knows that you can never really get a break. Sure you can say, "Hey kids, Mommy is taking a nap, play nice!" But how much sleep can you really get knowing that these devil children have the whole house to themselves? The traumatic scenarios that could ensue are limitless. You can baby proof a house all you want, but once your child hits those danger-craving years there's nothing that can stop them, except maybe you of course... if you're lucky.

These Tweets perfectly encapsulate just about how on-guard parents have to be 24/7.

Entitled Parents Who Got Roasted Online For Their Awful Behavior

The internet is where entitled parents go to showcase how much better they think they are than everyone else. Isn't that fun? Seems like they're overcompensating for something, but we don't have to get into it... Rather let's just appreciate how entertaining it is to watch Karen's of parenting from all over the world throw hissy-fits over basic parenting responsibilities. These posts do a great job of showcasing just how petty they can be when it comes to raising their kids.

Parents Disclose White Lies They Don't Regret Telling Their Kids

Once you have kids your entire life changes and a lot of adjustments need to be made to keep up with it. You have to try to have healthy snacks around the house, you can't get blackout drunk every Tuesday, and you need to deal with your child's incessant curiosity. I promise you, it never ends.

Why this? But why that? But why why why?

It can drive you insane. Sometimes it makes your life just a whole lot easier to tell a little white lie. It might not make a whole lot of sense, but it gets the job done. If you run out of useful white-lies, feel free to take any of these that fellow parents shared on Twitter.

Five-Year-Old Raises $150 To Convince Her Parents To Change Her Name

When we're young we are basically testing our parents to see how much we can get away with. How late can I push my bedtime? Will my parents actually check my homework every single day? If I just ask for a toy enough times will it appear out of nowhere?

Another common question is, "Can I change my name?" It's a phase that a lot of children go through as they struggle to find independence in their highly constrained world. But what if it's more than just a phase? A 5-year-old girl named 'Charlie,' showed a lot of determination when requesting to change her name to 'Charlotte.' Her mother, Bri, made a Tiktok about it, and it quickly went viral.

Outrage After Male Teacher Sends Teen Home Due To 'Distracting' Turtleneck Dress Combo

There has always been a double-standard for girls and boys when it comes to dress-codes. In every student handbook, there are about ten pages reserved for girls: No bra straps showing, no skirts above the pinky finger, no collarbones, no leggings, no backs showing — I could easily go on for several paragraphs.

When you finally get to the boy section: No swear words on shirts, no hats... and that's basically the extent of it.

I was under the impression that school systems were changing and people were finally understanding how unfair it is to put the responsibility on the girls to make sure the boys don't get 'distracted.' But apparently we're still not there yet. And, apparently, it's not just the students who find it distracting. Ew.

Parents Discuss Times People Without Kids Had No Idea What They Were Talking About

Being a parent comes with a lot of knowledge. It's not a job for everyone. It's not even really a job since you don't make any kind of profit. However, from what I've gathered once you're a parent you begin to see things differently, suddenly you are bombarded with so much new information and a completely different lifestyle. It also looks extremely difficult but it must be worth it since so many people keep doing it, literally every day.

People Reveal Words Their Families Completely Made Up

When you spend too much time with people a lot starts to happen. You can predict their moods, memorize their sleep schedule, and of course, you develop some kind of a dialect that only becomes more and more abstract with time. Made-up words can definitely solidify a relationship. So, who do we spend the most time with growing up? Yep, our families. And some 'famiolects' just happen to go much farther than others.

Funny Tweets About The Special Skills Parents Develop By Mistake

Parenting is an all-encompassing job. When you have kids, you somehow turn into a maid, a doctor, a nurse, a chef, an electrician a therapist, and a teacher overnight, all without a pay rise. But with your new and improved 'job' description, you pick up a bunch of skills that you wouldn't otherwise have learned. From knowing when the perfect time to throw away the flower your child picked for you, or how to shorten picture stories, the skills parents develop by mistake are useless in all other scenarios. These hilarious tweets from parents about the skills they picked up might just hit close to him if you have some little ones of your own.
