Worst Gifts People Received From Their In-Laws

Your relationship with your in-laws is one of the most important but trickiest to handle. If you're lucky, you get a set of in-laws who treat you like their own child, who respect your boundaries and are all-around decent human beings. Unfortunately, not everyone is blessed with such perfect in-laws, and if you have a particularly bad set, they can make your life pretty miserable. These people share the worst gifts they've received from their in-laws, and I won't lie; they are bad. The passive-aggression behind the thoughtless gestures are enough to give anyone the message that their in-laws hate their guts. In-laws: the gifts that keep on giving.

She is no longer my mother-in-law."

Overbearing Mother-In-Law Calls Son's Wife A Gold-Digger Because She Doesn't Want A Pre-Nup

Maintaining a healthy marriage is difficult enough. But adding the extra layer of disapproving parents can really push one's stress levels over the edge. I will never understand why a parent would want to interfere in their child's marriage. Is it boredom? A lack of self-restraint? Perhaps it's some kind of pride issue. Whatever it may be, it sure can mess up a lot. Parents, didn't you teach your child to be nice when they were growing up? Maybe it's time to take your own advice.

Evil Mothers-In-Law Who Don't Believe In The Concept Of Boundaries

There are so many stereotypes about mothers-in-law and their relationships with their children's spouses. Often they don't approve, but that is to be expected. They believe their kids are the best in the world, so who could measure up? Constant disapproval will be a nuisance to anyone, but what is even more toxic is when a mother-in-law completely disregards boundaries. Many will just see them as mere suggestions and choose to go out of their way to interfere in every situation. Sound familiar?

MIL's are just one of the many joys of married life.

Bride-To-Be's Future Mother In Law Ruins Wedding Dress, Won't Take Responsibility

Ladies, before tying the knot, it's essential to understand how much of a mommy's boy you're marrying and how healthy the dynamics of the family that you're marrying into are. If your future husband doesn't put you before his mom, sister, or other family members, then you might have a big issue with boundaries on your hands. One woman discovered this the hard way when she found her wedding dress missing from her closet. It turns out that her fiancé had taken the dress over to his mom's house, who was upset that she hadn't been part of the dress-buying process. His mom and sister then proceeded to try on the dress, stretching it out, so it no longer fitted the bride, and then refused to replace it. The understandably furious bride posted on Reddit's Am I The A-Hole, asking whether or not she was right to be upset at the evident lack of respect she was receiving from her fiancé and his family. The responses were unanimously telling her not to ignore the glaring red flags of lack of boundaries and walk away. Here is the story, with some of the best comments in response.
