Funniest Relationship Tweets of The Week (January 15, 2021)

Relationships have their ups and downs. Sure, therapy is a great way to process your feelings, but it's expensive as f*ck. Twitter, on the other hand, is free. So when you need to rant about your partner who is driving you crazy or complain about being so single that you're starting to grow cobwebs down there (speaking for a friend, of course), then tweeting about it can be almost as therapeutic as therapy. Welcome to this week's funniest relationship tweets, where all the highs and lows of love get penned in 280 characters or less.

Guy Gets Slammed For Being Jealous Of GF's 'Easier', Better Paid Job

The extended lockdown over the past year has meant many couples now work together from home. Of course, living and working with your significant other isn't ideal because you're basically on top of each other 24-7, exposing you to sides of them that you might not have seen before. But since it's pretty unavoidable nowadays, couples have had to adapt. Unfortunately, it has brought out the ugly side of people, which one guy who posted on Reddit's Am I The Asshole proved when he went on a jealous rant after observing his GF's work schedule and being bitter that she was making double his salary for half the work. She understandably got pissed off, explaining that it wasn't his place to say what her time was worth because she was hired for her knowledge. If her boss and CEO saw the work she produced and based her salary off that, it wasn't his place to undervalue her because he was jealous. He also casually threw in the fact that she does the housework and he doesn't. Redditors had a lot to say to him, but the main consensus was that he was the asshole who had jealousy issues. Read his ridiculous rant, and let us know what you think.

When we both worked in different offices I didn't know much about her day to day life at work.

Man Trolled For Asking Girlfriend To Stop Smiling So Widely In Photos

Being attracted to your partner is an essential aspect of a healthy relationship. Although attraction isn't based solely on physical appearance—it's also about their character—being OK with the way your partner looks is crucial. If you don't like the way someone looks, don't be with them. And don't complain about it and pretend that you're doing so for their good. Because that's how you give people insecurities or at least perpetuate ones they already have.

One guy took to Reddit's Am I The A— Hole, explaining that his girlfriend has a "bad case of TMJ, which makes it so that when she gives a big smile, one side of her mouth curls up into a huge grin while the other side basically stays still. Every selfie we've taken together has her looking like this. While I absolutely accept that this is just a condition she has, I wish she would do what she can to make it less noticeable." Redditers jumped to defend the poor woman, calling this guy out for the a**hole that he is. Here is his post, with some of the comments. What do you think?

Guy Trapped In Bedroom For 12 Hours, Hiding From GF's Parents

I distinctly remember being a teenager and making up all sorts of lies and excuses to my parents, so I could sneak out and see my boyfriend at the time. Although we would only hang out in his car or the park, the thrill of knowing my parents would disapprove of him made it all the more exciting, and I was more willing to take risks to see him. That's just the way teenagers are wired (right?), and I know I wasn't the only one doing it. All my friends had a secret older boyfriend at some stage or another. But at some point, the risks are not worth the rewards when it comes to sneaking around to see your sweetheart. One guy painfully learned this lesson after getting stuck hiding in his girlfriend's bedroom for 12 hours, so her strict parents wouldn't see him. He documented the whole saga on the popular subreddit, TIFU (Think I F*cked Up). Check it out below; it's a fantastic tale of endurance, and it's pretty funny too.

Man Thinks It's Too Soon To Move In With Pregnant GF, Causes Uproar

Having unprotected sex is fun and games until you end up with an unplanned pregnancy. Of course, having a baby is a blessing and a gift and something to be treasured. Still, when it comes as a surprise (aka a mistake), it forces you to recalibrate your future and embrace the responsibilities of parenthood perhaps earlier than you might have wanted to. I guess the age-old adage of "don't be silly, wrap your willy" is correct. Ideally, both parents should embrace the challenge of parenthood equally, however, some men try playing the "I'm not ready for fatherhood" card to shirk parental responsibility and carry on living a single lifestyle. Of course, these men are idiots, especially those who didn't wear a condom during sex.

One guy on Reddit's r/AmITheAsshole thread got himself in this exact situation and has caused somewhat of an uproar upon asking if he was the ahole. In short, he didn't use a condom during sex (by his own admission) got his GF of eight months pregnant, and then claimed he felt it was too early for them to move in together to raise the baby. He admits that his friends and family think he's a massive tool, and it sounds like his GF is sick of his sh*t. I would be too! But it's safe to say that 99% of Redditers agree with them, and lay into the OP pretty hard. What do you think of the situation? Is he the ahole?
