Childhood is when you discover who you are, how the world works, and the rules of social norms. It's a time for exploration and experimentation and learning. But even during this stage of life, where people are given the most leeway, kids still cross the line and do some pretty messed up things. Sometimes they get away with it, and sometimes they don't, but you can bet they'll never forget the times they did weird sh*t. A Reddit thread that asked people to reveal some of the most disturbing things they did as kids revealed that if you think your past is dark, someone else's is darker. Here are some of the most messed-up examples we saw.

McDonald's has certainly gone through change over the decades. Kids these days will never know what it's like to play in McDonald's playgrounds, to receive a Ronald McDonald's hand puppet, or enjoy one of those old school breakfast trays. Times may have changed but that doesn't mean we can't take a trip down memory lane and look back at the good old days of McDonald's with fondness. Most places we go are steeped in history, very often having a dark past. Very often we are oblivious to all the events that have taken place in the decades leading up to the moment we are standing in a place, especially the ones which saw lives lost. These photos have been cleverly photoshopped to show the dark and sad past that specific places have, to remind us that the past should never be forgotten. 

School should be a safe place, where students go to study during the day in peace. But between the fighting teenagers, kids daring each other to do stupid stuff, and the general way that school kids fool around thinking they're invincible, accidents are bound to happen. An AskReddit thread asked people to share the disturbing things they witnessed at school and some of them are pretty bad!
