Controlling Mom Freaks Out After Losing Access To Adult Daughter's Constant Location

As a parent, you never stop worrying about your children. They could be at school, at a party, at the doctor's office, across the world, even chilling upstairs in their bedroom, and there will always be a little part of you that wants to make sure that they're okay. Parents are meant to protect their children after all. But at some point, you need to loosen your grip a little bit. You don't have to throw them out the window like a little bird you nursed to health, but you do have to grant them partial freedom at some point to grow on their own.

Delusional Mother Demands Teen Girl Shaves Head To Appease Her Sister's Self-Esteem

Teenagehood consists of difficult yet formative years. We've all made mistakes during our teen years, some of them worse than others. In this week's "Am I The A$$hole?" thread, a poor teen girl made a terrible mistake when she decided to bleach her hair on her own, causing it to fall out. Hairdressers could do nothing for her, so the only option left was for her to shave her head. As devastating as that is for a teen girl, the mom asked her sister to shave her head as well in solidarity. As expected, the sister refused, driving the sister with the buzz-cut into even more hysterics. Redditors seem to unanimously agree

Controlling Grandma Bleaches Granddaughter's Hair Without Asking Her Mom

Children like to express themselves in different ways. Some like to wear funky clothes or take drama classes, and some like to temporarily dye their hair funky colors. There really isn't much harm in using temporary dye on a child. There are very safe ones that come out in 5-10 washes, hence the term 'temporary.' So if there isn't much risk, and it makes your child happy, what's the big deal? Bleach, on the other hand, is not something to be messed around with.

Abusive Mother Ignores Teen Daughter's Desperate Request To See A Doctor For Years

We hate gyno appointments just as much as the next girl, but it's integral to check in on our health once in a while. As adult women, we're capable of booking necessary appointments by ourselves. However, what are you supposed to do if you're a teen girl whose mom has been refusing to book her an appointment for years? That's exactly what happened in a thread posted on Reddit's infamous "Am I The A$$hole?" subreddit this week. When the girl finally mustered up the courage to book an appointment herself, her mother was livid and insisted that she pay for the appointment by herself since she booked it without her permission. Yikes. We definitely think the mom is in the wrong here, but what do you guys think? Scroll down for more context.

Woman Shamed By Ex Mother-In-Law For Opening Front Door While Breastfeeding Her Baby

The thing people forget about babies is that they don't feed on a schedule; when they're hungry, they're hungry, and that's when you gotta whip out your boob (or a bottle), regardless of where you are or what you are doing. Sometimes it might not be the most comfortable, especially if you're breastfeeding, but hey, welcome to motherhood. Unfortunately, there are still people who think it's ok to shame mothers for breastfeeding in public, and those people deserve to be in their own hall of shame, especially other women. Because they're only further sexualizing women's bodies and shaming one of the purest forms of motherly love. A single mother posted on Reddit's Am I The A—hole herself in a situation when her ex's mother shamed her for 'exposing herself to the whole neighborhood,' when she answered the door to her,  mid-breastfeeding. Of course, Redditors had a lot to say about this toxic woman and defended the nursing mom, who, of course, did nothing wrong. #FreeTheNipple

Women Reveal The Moments They Realized They Were Turning Into Their Mom

As we get older. we assume different kinds of roles. We might go from being the intern to the boss. From the Student to the teacher. From a pedestrian to a driver. But one of the most common roles switches is going from child to parent. But your parenting habits don't come out of nowehere. We don't simply become parents, many of us completely shape-shift into our own parents. It can be difficult to realize at first, but it's kind of unavoidable so better to just accept it sooner rather than later.

Mom Forces Daughter To Share Swimsuit With 'Less Fortunate' Child On Her Birthday

Parenting is difficult, and people across the globe are definitely guilty of f*cking it up. On Reddit's "Am I The Asshole?" thread, a mom asked about a recent parenting mishap involving her 6-year-old daughter's birthday party. A child who almost had to go into foster care showed up at the birthday party without a swimsuit, and the mom tried to give her the daughter's brand-new swimsuit. Because she's a typical six-year-old, she had a meltdown, and the mom responded by punishing her on her birthday. Who knew so much drama could go down at a six-year-old's birthday party? Scroll down for more details, and how people reacted. Do you think the mom was in the wrong?

Man Charges Ex-Wife For Asking Him To Watch Their Kid On Her Custody Day

Getting divorced when you have kids adds an extra layer of 'complicated' to an already difficult situation, and custody arrangements can get tricky. When you're not living with the person you're co-parenting with, figuring out your schedules in advance is crucial for ensuring adequate childcare backup if something comes up. If you have to rely last-minute on your ex-partner to look after your child on a day you were supposed to have them, it can cause stress and pressure, especially if they have to reschedule things. One dad experienced something similar to this and posted his predicament on Reddit's Am I The A—hole. He explained how his ex-wife had asked him last-minute to watch their child on her day after failing to sort out adequate backup childcare, which meant he had to miss work. He lost money as a result, and so he asked his wife for the money to cover his losses.

Nosy Mom Tries To Get Daughter Fired From Dream Job After It Makes Her Uncomfortable

A lot of the time we seek our parent's approval on things. After all, they used to be the only two people we looked up to. But after some point, you realize your parents are just people with flaws, who sometimes have opinions that you don't agree with, and that's okay. We are many to make our own decisions and even make our own mistakes. If you're an adult, and your parents aren't financing that decision, they don't really need to be involved at all.

One nosy mom decided she didn't like her daughter's new job and legitimately tried to call her boss and get her terminated. Now, her daughter, on the 'Am I the A-hole' page on Reddit, is seeking validation in her decision to ignore her mother's wishes.

People Describe Their Funny Childbirth Stories

Giving birth is without a doubt one of the most beautiful miracles to occur every single second in this life. Side-note: Isn't that crazy? However, even though it is a precious thing, it is uncomfortable, painful, and gooey. I don't know about you, but my mom loves to remind me of that too. I guess childbirth/raising children are both one of those things that you never fully understand until you give it a go.

Couple Blackmailed By Groom's Mother For Refusing To Invite Sleazy Uncle To Wedding

Planning a wedding is hectic enough as is. Some family members are more outspoken than others and think they have a right to say what goes on at the wedding, even though it should generally be up to the bride and groom. Introducing the family member in question on this Reddit "Am I The Asshole" thread: the groom's mother. The groom is refusing to invite the sleazy alcoholic uncle that stole money from his family and has barely been an uncle to him, but the mother won't have it. She's threatening not to come to the wedding, provide them with money for the wedding (which isn't fazing them), and not to talk to them after the wedding. To me, it's pretty clear who the a**hole is here, but what do you guys think? Let us know in the comments.

On Saturday, we discussed it with K's family and his mum asked 'are you inviting Uncle P?" Uncle P is just the worst. I've met him 3

Mom Explains How She Dealt With Her Young Daughters' Rudeness, Twitter Says 'Yas Queen'

Being a mother, or a guardian in general, is not an easy job. Every experience is a major learning experience for your child, and you have to try to model for them what it means to be a kind and honest person. Basically, you don't get a break. But some parents definitely seem to have it all figured out, like Dr. Chae, an educator, and mother, equipped with a beautiful amount of patience. She has received much praise for being direct and asking her daughter why she was behaving rudely. The way she got on her daughter's level while speaking with her was very impressive to the Twittersphere.

Childfree Woman With Demanding Job Upset At Moms For Claiming Monopoly On Tiredness

We all have that one friend who just cannot stop 'sneak-bragging' about how overwhelmed they are, how they just barely have enough time to eat or sleep or exercise. Yet it seems as though they really make the time to tell you all of this, literally every single day. And of course, they never ask you about your life and your duties, because they're so cute and little compared to hers. You couldn't possibly understand what it's like to be tired! Why is it always a competition of who is busier? I know this must be making you think of somebody.

Before we get into this aggravating 'Am I The A-hole' post, if you feel pissed off already and want to scream, feel free to let it all out.

Parents Admit Times They Really Thought, 'Damn, My Baby Is Ugly'

Having a child is a beautiful, magical miracle that many people feel very lucky to do. It also happens to be one of the most painful things a person could possibly go through, but hey, men are stronger than women right? I digress.

The point is, after all that work, and planning, and pain you'd hope that the final project is at least presentable. But then this alien creature comes sprawling out of your insides and you realize that thing is yours and it's pretty crazy. Obviously, it's beautiful, it's a baby! It's the purest thing ever, but damn they can be funny looking too. It's okay if you've had these thoughts too.
