Instagram has glowed TF up in the last decade, and so have its influencers. It seems like everywhere you turn on the social media app, an influencer is trying to sell you an unheard-of plant-based moisturizer that will allegedly make your skin shine, or promoting that infamous purple vibrator whilst urging you to use their discount code. Some More Funny 'Overheard LA' Conversations

If you've been following us for a while, you'll know we're fans of the Instagram account Overheard in LA; the platform dedicated to documenting the ridiculous things overheard in LA and its trendy neighborhoods. The page is essentially a collection of fragments of actual eavesdropped conversations that people submit, which mocks the Instagram culture that seems to now be so deeply embedded into the average Angeleno. The snippets of conversation are hilarious, if not ridiculous, and so here is a fresh new batch of some of the things Angelenos have been overheard saying. You can thank me later.

Thai Model Shows Striking 'Instagram Vs Reality' In Side By Side Photos

When it comes to the world of social media, everything looks perfect. But, as we all know, it's all a lie, and nothing is as it seems. The growing movement of influencers exposing the harsh truths behind the seemingly picture-perfect lives we see on Instagram raises awareness of the influencer industry's detrimental effects on consumers. But still, people continue to compare their real lives to the fake ones they perceive to be perfect on Instagram and other social media platforms, which can create body image issues, jealousy, and insecurities, amongst other things. One Thai model has posted a series of side-by-side pictures on Twitter of the realities behind the lies we see on social media. Vienna posts the pictures with witty captions, giving a glimpse into the fact that behind the poses, the filters, and the sucked in tummies are regular people, doing a job and making an income. Here is a selection of her creations.
