Impressively Incorrect Things People Decided They Wanted To Share With The World Via Twitter

We all have brain farts from time to time. It can be super embarrassing, but usually, we're able to clarify that it was just a simple mistake, and people won't leave the situation thinking we are complete numb-nuts. We are all just human after all.

The only thing is, nowadays we express a good portion of our thoughts online and our 'brain farts' can be taken completely out of context, and the next thing you know there is an entire subreddit created about your beautifully inaccurate tweet, and now you are coined as an airhead. Is it fair? No. But is it hilarious? I mean, obviously.

Fifteen Of The Dumbest Things People Were Actually Told

It's amazing how long people can go believing a 'fun fact' they heard once, without ever actually looking into it. My parents used to tell me that drinking soda would stunt my growth, and I thought, "Oh sh*t, okay, thanks for the heads-up," and then proceeded to avoid soda at all costs and silently judge anyone who dared take a sip. It wasn't until I was much older, and had already completely stopped growing vertically, that I realized this was straight-up BS. Though this is what parents do, lying is easier than explaining.

Though it is important to note that not all of the dumb things we say come from our parents. There are some things we need to take responsibility for, like being airheads.

If you've ever come across someone with a lot of questionable 'knowledge,' you'll probably enjoy this Reddit thread.

Non-Americans Expose The Dumbest Thing An American Actually Said To Them

Americans are known for a lot of things. Some stereotypes are cool, like how we are known to have the craziest college experiences, fairly good customer service, and unlimited drink refills. These generalizations don't tend to bother anyone. However, there are less flattering ones as well... Unfortunately, Americans don't have the reputation of being the sharpest tools in the shed. Which, of course, is not always true! But after seeing these comments from TikTok, it might help you understand where this stereotype came from.
