Personally, I don't think the gender of the doctor should matter as long as they're skilled and professional, but I guess everyone is entitled to their own preference. As every woman knows, a visit to the gynecologist can be a little awkward. Even if your doctor is super friendly and puts you at ease, there's something about having a stranger being fist (or speculum) deep in your vagina that puts you slightly on edge. Depending on their approach, sometimes, gynecologists try to make things less awkward by making small talk during their examination, which, ironically, can make things even worse. These women shared the awkward things their gynecologists said to them, and all I'll say is, peering inside someone's vagina is not the time or place to crack jokes.
