Weekly Dose Of Mansplaining Tweets (April 14, 2021)

Mansplaining has become a completely routine part of life. To be fair it has always been around, but the only difference now is that women have become empowered to call men out on it. And boy does it feel good to tell a dude he is mansplaining. A man's view on the concept of 'mansplaining' can be very telling of how woke he really is. If you call him out and he says, "Oops, my bad," there's still hope, but if he hits you with the, "There should be woMANsplaining too," Run.

Here are the most iconic mansplaining Tweets we saw this week.

Women Reveal Lowkey Ways They Smash The Patriarchy On A Daily Basis

When people stereotype feminists, they think of them as very angry beings, yelling and burning bras until the break of dawn. If you're a fellow feminist, you're well aware that's not the case. A Reddit user started a thread about how women rebel against the patriarchy in subtle ways. Some of the responses are serious, whereas others made us chuckle. Scroll down to find out how women intend to take down the patriarchy, one small step at a time.

Man Thinks Abs On Women Are 'Gross,' Here Are Some Of Twitter's Iconic Responses

It really is amazing how much men think we really care about what they think. It's truly the audacity for me. Haven't we all agreed as a society that women barely adjust their appearance for the likes of men? Some of y'all really still think we dye our hair, try out new trends, work on our figures for men? That's rich. I think all women who read his comment can agree that now is the perfect time to start bodybuilding. I've never had more motivation to get ripped than right now.

Luckily, the academics of Twitter had our backs, and if Richard's post made you uncomfortable, you will love these clap backs.

Twelve images that might expose your dirty mind| thumbnail text - Richard Cooper @Rich_Cooper · Oct 16, 2020 ... Why do women train for ripped abs? It's because they want to look like men; truthfully it's gross. Lips, tits & hips. Men are simple, we want the classic beauty of a feminine hourglass shape. At no time in history did men ever want women with ripped abs. 354 2I 435 901

Fourteen Things Society Deems 'Normal' For Women, But Are Actually Seriously Messed Up

Being a woman is a constant challenge. We get paid significantly less and then objectified significantly more. We're always having to fight for more or less of something because we know damn well that nothing is going to be handed to us. It's amazing how much we put up with when you really think about it. Some things are so deeply instilled into societal norms that we don't even question them ourselves. Those are the scariest things, and the only people who can uncover such oppressive behaviors and call out society for their f**ked up constructs are us.

In this Reddit thread women share the messed up things they have to deal with each and every day.

Outrage After Male Teacher Sends Teen Home Due To 'Distracting' Turtleneck Dress Combo

There has always been a double-standard for girls and boys when it comes to dress-codes. In every student handbook, there are about ten pages reserved for girls: No bra straps showing, no skirts above the pinky finger, no collarbones, no leggings, no backs showing — I could easily go on for several paragraphs.

When you finally get to the boy section: No swear words on shirts, no hats... and that's basically the extent of it.

I was under the impression that school systems were changing and people were finally understanding how unfair it is to put the responsibility on the girls to make sure the boys don't get 'distracted.' But apparently we're still not there yet. And, apparently, it's not just the students who find it distracting. Ew.

The Best Twitter Responses To Burger King's Misogynist Tweet

Burger King dug itself a hole on International Women's Day. The fast-food chain thought it was the best day to post a (now deleted) tweet saying that "Women belong in the kitchen." A follow-up post explained that only 20% of women are chefs, and Burger King will be starting a scholarship program designed to "help female Burger King employees pursue their culinary dreams". However, the use of a misogynist joke on a day celebrating women left many Twitter users highly unimpressed, as gender stereotypes are still rampant in 2021 and far from being able to be joked about. Check out the best Twitter responses to Burger King's tweet below for what not to do on International Women's Day

Woman Saves Girl From Being Harassed By Creepy Man Asking About Her Toes

Only a few days ago Tiktok user Nab decided to share her experience intervening in the situation we all know too well. Being crept on in the middle of the night by creepy-ass men. We usually try everything we can do to avoid this situation. We try to go out in groups, never walk outside alone, get in and out of our car as fast as we can... but sometimes it's unavoidable. Men will be men.

Women Who Made History For Being Very Very Bad

What would the world be if bad girls weren't here to shake things up? Us women have only the bad girls to thank for getting us our right to vote, to study, heck, even our right to show off our luscious legs in a mini skirt. The bad girls are the ones who don't ask for permission when they change the world. They barely even ask for forgiveness either. They take what is theirs. They reject stereotypes and prove every day that there is a place for women in every professional setting. We all owe the bad girls a big thank you!

"I’m a Male Feminist and Here's Why You Should be Grateful"

I'm a man, but I'm also a feminist. It's the 21st century, and you females deserve to be treated like human beings! We're not heathens anymore, we're civilized and we should have equality for men AND women. I'm talking about the right to vote, I'm talking about the right to work alongside men, I'm talking about the right to decide what you do with your own body. The one frustrating thing about being a male feminist is that I talk all the time about this stuff, but women are always really weird about it. Like, I told a girl at a party the other day that I think men should do housework sometimes, and she actually had the nerve to roll her eyes at me. I was trying to advocate for her gender and she didn't even give me a smile! So as someone who genuinely cares about women's rights, I just wanted to let you girls know all the amazing things I'm doing for you.

male 'feminist' explains why women should be grateful for him | thumbnail text - "As a female, you are naturally wired to be better at cleaning and housework than me. That’s not regressive to say, it’s just biology. That’s why I always let girls clean up after me, I know that I just won’t do as good a job. But you’re in luck because I’m happy to lecture you from the couch while you tidy up!"

Women Reveal Their 'Most Jaw-Dropping' Mansplaining Experiences On TikTok

Men who mansplain are amongst some of the worst people on the planet. There's nothing more boring than having a man patronizingly explain something to you that you not only already understand but that you probably know more about than him. Welcome to men's fragile sexist egos, which can't possibly comprehend that a delicate, stupid little woman could understand something better than him— especially about their own bodies. I know, I know, not all men do this. But the ones who do give men a bad rep.

Tyra Blizzard decided to jump on the trending mansplaining bandwagon and shared a story on TikTok of how her ex-boyfriend tried mansplaining her period to her, explaining that she only needed a couple of spare tampons in her purse. and not as many as she currently had. She explained that she was "flabbergasted", and exclaimed, "Sir, how would you know about my flow?!" She then asked women to stitch or duet her TikTok with their own stories and share their own "jaw-dropping mansplaining experiences." Of course, her post went viral, and the responses came flooding in, and they are quite shocking. Here are some of the best, showing how alive and well the mansplaining disease is.
