People Unveil The Outrageous Things They Were Taught In 'Abstinence Only' Sex-Ed

Sex-ed is a little different in each school. Every state has its own laws about how sex ought to be taught. Redditors Unveil Wacky Sex-Ed Misunderstandings Which Failed Them

Believe it or not, not all sex ed's are created equal. Some school districts have their teachers skim over all the juicy stuff and preach abstinence, while others will force their poor teachers to get into all the nitty-gritty details and answer each and every question. I remain slightly scarred from my sex-ed course since we were forced to watch a 35-minute slide show of every kind of STI, on every kind of genital, oh and right after our lunch period.

Artist Illustrates How Adults Encourage Sexism Among Young Boys And it is Thought Provoking

We all know children learn by copying/following the adults around them. So, when we display bad/toxic behavior in front of our children, it slowly starts developing in them too. But, there's something many of us do that goes unnoticed—nurturing sexism in young boys. For example, by telling their sons that certain things are exclusively for "girls" and doing them would also make them "girly." To address this topic better, artist Damian Alexander used his artistic illustrations to explain how adults encourage sexism in young boys through every day small talk. For more, check out his Instagram page as well as his home page.
