The older I get, the more I realize that Disney movies were full of innuendos, inappropriate references, and downright creepy moments that went straight over my head as a kid (thank god), but which my parents probably appreciated. We love sharing the darker side of Disney with you, so here is a fresh batch of Disney memes that you definitely shouldn't show your kids.

Who better to bring fab fashion and fierce competition to the screen than these iconic animated ladies? If you've been following us for a while, you'll know how much I love seeing artists reimagine our favorite Disney characters into more modern, relatable, and realistic personalities. By now, you all know how much I love artists who do Disney reimaginations. We've bought you Disney hunks with a plus-size makeover, and Disney princesses reimagined as Marvel and DC characters. This time, we bring you a true gem, and it comes in the form of reimagining Disney couples expecting babies! Yes, that's right, pregnant Disney princesses! The incredible artist behind these works of art has gone to painstaking detail to accurately depict what our favorite Disney couples would look like if they were soon-to-be parents and I'm in love! Our "Female Artist of the Week" feature is space for us to drive awareness towards talented female artist who creates incredible quality content. This week, I'm back with another Disney feature (yay!), with artist Holly Fae, who produces mesmerizing Fairytale and Fantasy inspired art. Among her beautiful work, Holly has started recreating Disney princesses' faces with realistic human proportions. In other words, getting rid of the alienesque features like the big eyes and tiny noses that all Disney princesses have for some reason. You may have realized by now, that I love all kinds of Disney recreations. But I'm loving this new makeover, of Disney characters trading their regular clothes for street fashion. Unfortunately, today's culture places a huge emphasis on men and women to have perfect bodies. Some people maintain that this message is internalized by children at a young age by being exposed to pop culture and media entertainment. It can be argued that cartoons such as Disney perpetuate this unhealthy narrative because the majority of the princes and princesses are slim and beautiful. But what happens when the heroes we're used to seeing start carrying a little bit more weight than usual and more accurately represent the bodies of the average person? Everyone loves Keanu Reeves and most people love Disney princes. So why has no one ever thought to combine the two and create the ultimate Disney prince? Well, worry not because finally, the day has come, and honestly, Disney has never been so appealing. If you love a bit of Keanu and you're partial to a Disney prince her and there, you'll love these pictures of Keanu's face that Crystal Ro has photoshopped onto some of your favorite Disney heroes. The world of Disney is full of princesses, damsels in distress, and courageous male knights in shining armor. DC and Marvel comics too, are predominantly full of male superheroes, with a severe lack of strong female presence. It's not exactly the most empowering message for young girls. But what happens when we combine the two worlds and turn the Disney princesses into superheroes and show young girls that princesses too can be as strong as Disney princes? Fashion provides an opportunity for people to express their individual style and personality. But more than that, it also allows you to live vicariously through other characters, by dressing as they would. Dressing up is an outlet and means to imagine what you'd look like as another person or character and that's exactly what Danielle & Nicole, British twin sisters do on their Instagram account. Using vintage clothing, they recreate famous animated characters from movies or our favorite pop icons with beautiful results. Check out some of their amazing clothing creations below. Many people grew up with magic. We are not referring to Harry Potter magic or magician's magic, but instead the special, indescribable magic of Disney. If you grew up in the 90s, you probably had a favorite character, a favorite Disney princess, and a favorite Disney movie. Your bedspread, blankets, pillows, bedroom furniture, and clothes further solidified your love for all things Disney. Disney was a childhood lifestyle, and its characters were our spirit animals, always good, innocent and heroic. However, Japanese graphic designer, Shusaku Takaoka, decided to challenge the way we see our favorite cartoon characters by digitally incorporating them into places and scenarios they don't fit into.
