More Red Flags That Work In Books But Wouldn't Fly In Real Life

We were all head over heels for Edward Cullen back in the day, but looking back, the dude was hella creepy. Watching Bella while she slept? No thanks, I'll pass! Even though we're all over the toxic, possessive boyfriend in books, none of us would actually stand for that sh*t IRL. In a recent ASkWomen subreddit thread, women discuss what they're super into in books, but are total red flags in reality. Scroll down to see all the toxic tropes they brought up.

Things People Thought Were Stupid At First But Ended Up Being Awesome

We're all guilty of embracing the alternative over the mainstream. But there's a reason the mainstream stuff is popular - because it's pretty awesome, and it's okay to admit it. We're into what other girls are into, and that's totally okay. I used to think boy bands were so basic, but they're pretty darn good, and I'm no longer ashamed to fangirl over them. I've become one with myself, and so should all of you. Women on a recent Reddit thread talked about things they used to think were stupid, but now love, and we're so here for being true to ourselves and our passions. Scroll down to see what they had to say.

I'd just listen to classic rock and older bands/musicians and thought that the newer music we have today had no soul, was shallow/boring and whatever. When I actually started to dig around a little and give it a chance, I found plenty of bands/musicians that are amazing. No more "born in the wrong generation" crap from me!

Women Disclose Feminine Things They Used To Pretend To Hate, But Now Embrace

It seems funny to think that a lot of girls used to feel uncomfortable or ashamed of doing 'girly' things. Even though there really shouldn't be things labeled as feminine or non-feminine, it has become increasingly clear throughout the generations that anything girls like somehow have to be lame, and therefore it's much 'cooler' if a girl is 'different' and likes more traditionally masculine things. Yep, both boys and girls get bullied for being feminine, isn't that fun? And people still think we have achieved full social equality.

Women Debate Why There Are Significantly Less Female Serial Killers Than Male

It's no secret that women have become super obsessed with true crime stories. While women aren't the main gender featured in these stories as the perpetrators, women consume the content more than men, interestingly enough. In an AskWomen thread, a Redditor asked other female Redditors why they think there are fewer female serial killers than males. While some women said that it's because men are forced to bottle up their emotions, others said that women just might be better at getting away with murder than men because they're less likely to be suspected, or perhaps they're just more calculated.

Clever Responses To Guys Who Mockingly Ask If We're On Our Periods

As fun as being a woman is, it's not all rainbows and butterflies all the time. Contrary to popular belief, sometimes we're in shitty moods. That doesn't automatically mean we're on our periods (which coincidentally also call for shitty moods). Guys who think it's funny to ask us if we're on our periods - you're not original. We've heard it all before. Try asking what's bugging us instead, or come up with something fresh, please. Reddit ladies totally rocked a thread where a woman asked how they respond to guys mockingly asking if they're on their periods. Here's how to respond next time a guy in your life thinks he's being clever with this dumb AF question.

Here's Why Women Swipe Left On Men Who Proudly Hold Dead Fish In Dating App Pics

Ever since dating apps came about, unspoken rules have developed over what kind of pictures and bios are likely to score matches. For some reason, it's become a fact that men who post pictures of themselves pridefully holding a dead fish on a fishing trip are basic AF. On a thread, a Redditor asked Reddit women why they hate his kind of picture so much, and as per usual, they delivered. Men who are guilty of uploading this picture should consider taking their advice. No more fish-men for us, please.

Why women hate fish in dating app pics | thumbnail text - Confetticandi · 17h They're never very flattering pictures. Unless fishing is a lifestyle for you and your potential SO needs to know how into it you are, why would you put up an unflattering picture of yourself?
